Sabaton heeft een nieuwe music video gereleaset voor Yamato ; een nummer van hun laatste album, Legends. In deze geschiedenisles neemt Sabaton ons mee naar de 40's, waar Yamato bekend stond als het meest dominante oorlogsschip. In de music video kan je de band dan ook terugzien op dit gigantische schip tijdens zijn laatste strijd. Een episch gebeuren met die typische Sabaton sound. Ter info Making another major move and breaking down walls once again, the Swedish masters of heavy metal Sabaton have joined forces with leading historically accurate naval multiplayer game, World of Warships , and released a brand new single and music video entitled "Yamato" — available in-game and on all DSPs now. It is being released by BETTER NOISE MUSIC on the heels of 2025's "LEGENDS" , which marked Sabaton's first album for the label. "Crossing The Rubicon" (Feat. Nothing More) from the album was also the band's firstever Top 10 single on the Billboard Rock Chart. This song notably marks the second World of Warships collaboration between the band and developer Wargaming following the mega-popular "Bismarck." For the first time, a Sabaton -branded "Yamato" is also available in World of Warships in addition to dialogue by vocalist Joakim Brodén and bassist Pär Sundström . Along with different bespoke items in game, Joakim Brodén can take the helm of the ship while the standard battle soundtrack replaced by “Yamato” or “Bismarck” , transforming every engagement into an epic metal experience. As history will tell you, "Yamato" was the name of a massive Japanese battleship constructed in-secret and unveiled during 1941 as the most dominant vessel of its kind. Designed to win at naval warfare, it represented the ultimate floating symbol of strength. In 1945, it famously hit the high seas on a suicide mission to defend Okinawa. Despite ceaseless fire from aircraft above and an opposing fleet of a far greater number on the water, the "Yamato" and its crew never gave up. Instead, they literally battled until the bitter end when a huge explosion rendered a deathblow to the ship. It sank in a blaze of glory… As part of the alliance with World of Warships and Wargaming , the band filmed the accompanying music video in Belgrade, Serbia last October. Quite fittingly, it depicts Sabaton aboard the titular ship during its last stand, descending into the unforgiving ocean as the band hangs on for dear life. Waves consume the deck, but each member keeps playing his instrument even as the chaos swallows the guys up one-by-one. Testing their mettle in real-life, the musicians faced brutally frigid temperatures, weathering a continuous blast of ice-cold water for the duration of the shoot. The band remained submerged in freezing waters with the help of ventilators. Pushing it to the max, the guys even wore weights beneath their stage clothes to truly evoke the sensation of sinking. Maintaining the highest level of safety protocol, professional divers assisted Sabaton throughout. About the track, vocalist Joakim Brodén said, "Battleships are interesting and naval stories have, from time to time, been part of the Sabaton lore. ' Bismarck ' was an exciting story for us to share and a fan favourite, and ' Yamato ' is sort of a follow-up to that song. Our former guitarist, Tommy, wrote this song while he was still in the band. We only 'Thobbefied' it after guitar duties were returned to Thobbe!" Bassist Pär Sundström added, "' Bismarck ' was such an exciting song but it was never part of an album, and it felt that it was missing something. We always wanted to follow up on that story. Over the years, countless fans have asked us to write a song about ' Yamato ,' and we knew that that would be a natural continuation of what we started with ' Bismarck .' We knew we wanted this song to have a totally different sound, and when Tommy was writing the music for this, we felt we had the appropriate, powerful song for this story. Kataklysm @ Trix (Antwerpen, BE) Kataklysm, Vader en Blood Red Throne leverden een verpletterende show tijdens hun 'Freedom or Death' tour. Ondanks dat het optreden verplaatst was van de zaal naar de Club en er nog meer dan genoeg plaats was, gaven alle bands het beste van zichzelf. Met The Well  laat TJE opnieuw een prachtige single op ons los, die alweer een ander geluid van de groep laat horen. Na de etherische schoonheid van Easy  en de breekbare pracht van Supernatural , is het nu de beurt aan de bedrieglijke lo-fi van The Well . In de strofes zorgen producer/gelegenheidszanger PJ Decraene en zangeres Lindy Versyck voor zowel tegenstellingen als een perfecte wisselwerking. Simon Comté @ Marni At Théâtre Marni, the Simon Comté Quartet offered a concise yet engaging performance, surrounded by a strong lineup: Wajdi Riahi on piano, Félix Zurstrassen on double bass, and Antoine Pierre on drums. Comté’s compositions complemented by inventive adaptations of more familiar repertoire, provided ample space for exploration, each musician stepping forward with confident, well-shaped solos in a fluid dialogue, while maintaining a cohesive ensemble sound, showing their long time chemistry built after years wo rking together. Lea Maria Fries "Cleo @ Jazz Station On the opening night of the River Jazz Festival, Swiss vocalist Lea Maria Fries delivered a performance at the crossroads of contemporary jazz, chanson, and European art-song traditions, Fries has built a reputation for using her voice not merely as a melodic instrument but as a narrative one, shifting between languages, textures, and emotional registers with striking precision. In fact, the first set opened with a piece in Swiss German, immediately establishing the personal and multilingual landscape that defines her repertoire. Sorcieres followed with a darker, more theatrical tone, before the mood softened with a delicate lullaby-like composition described as a “cure against nightmares,” written for someone close to her. Accompanied by piano, the piece unfolded with the gentle cadence of a nighttime ritual. Nile closed the set, expanding the sonic palette with flowing melodic lines and subtle rhythmic movement. The second set began with a love song built around a cinematic image: a farewell at a train station where two lovers depart in opposite directions, one heading west, the other east, perhaps for the better. Other songs, performed in French, deepened the emotional palette, while her long-standing creative partnership with her bassist, her primary compositional counterpart, remained the backbone of the performance, the two musicians interacting with quiet telepathy and with a visible musical chemistry. For the encore, Dust in Gravity stripped everything back to its essence: just voice and bass, fragile, precise, and a perfect closing for a perfect debut night. Predatory Void @ Café Café (Hasselt, BE) Predatory Void bracht op hun promotour voor het nieuwe album Atoned In Metamorphosis ook een bezoekje aan Hasselt. Zoals we van hen gewoon zijn, brachten ze hun duistere muziek ook met veel duisternis op het podium. Via opener Those Who Didn't , waarin ze op energieke wijze uitpakten met hun postrock, brachten ze het publiek in vervoering. Gisteren (15-3-2026) stond De Helling in het teken van avontuur, progrock en stevige psychedelische riffs. De Zweedse band Hällas bracht hun eigenzinnige mix van seventies prog en heavy metal naar Utrecht, compleet met epische verhalen over ridders, kastelen en mysterieuze zieners. Fotograaf Seth Abrikoos was aanwezig namens De Helling om het optreden vast te leggen. Daarnaast leverde zij ook een aantal foto’s aan BIR. Earth Tongue De avond werd geopend door het Nieuw-Zeelandse duo Earth Tongue . Met hun rauwe, fuzzgedreven psychrock en zware stoner-riffs zetten zij meteen een stevige sfeer neer. Het duo wist het publiek al vroeg goed mee te krijgen. Earth Tongue werd in 2016 opgericht door gitariste Gussie Larkin en drummer Ezra Simons en staat bekend om Larkins uitgesproken fuzz-gitaargeluid; de bandnaam verwijst naar de paddenstoelenfamilie ‘aardtongen’ (Geoglossaceae). Hällas Hällas werd in 2011 opgericht in het Zweedse Jönköping door Tommy Alexandersson, Kasper Eriksson en Jesper Nodbrant. De band speelt een mix van progressieve rock, hardrock en heavy metal met duidelijke invloeden uit de jaren zeventig. Zelf omschrijven ze hun stijl als “adventure rock”. In hun muziek en teksten staat een doorlopend verhaal centraal rond Hällas, een ridder in een parallel middeleeuws universum waar religie, tirannen en zieners een belangrijke rol spelen. Die verhalende insteek komt ook terug op hun albums, waaronder Conundrum  (2020) en Isle of Wisdom  (2022). Begin 2026 verscheen hun nieuwste plaat Panorama . Toen Hällas het podium van De Helling op kwam, stond de zaal flink vol. Het publiek reageerde enthousiast op de band, die met hun herkenbare progrocksound, sterke gitaarpartijen en theatrale uitstraling een overtuigende show neerzette. De invloeden uit de jaren zeventig waren live goed terug te horen, met veel ruimte voor gelaagde gitaren en orgel- en synthesizerpartijen.
