Sounds | Horsemeat - Borough Bait

Embrace The Abyss is op 22 november 2024 verschenen in eigen beheer.

Ter Info

Manchester’s darkest sons, Horsemeat return with their eagerly anticipated debut album “Embrace The Abyss”, their most expansive and complex release to date.

Blending heavy riffs, crushing drums, and raw, powerful vocals, Horsemeat creates a soundscape that’s reminiscent of classic Alternative Metal and Post-Hardcore, carving a sound that is uniquely their own which Horsemeat have dubbed “Prunge”.

Lamenting the wasted potential of the internet, “Embrace The Abyss” takes the listener on a nightmarish journey from the naive and hopeful inception of mass-market mobile communication, to the present weaponization of social media and potential dystopian future.

Rob says, "This album is a reflection of our experiences and the world around us. We hope it inspires listeners to embrace their inner turmoil and find solace in the abyss."

Tracks like "Darkness" and new single "Borough Bait" explore themes of existential dread, resilience, and the complexities of modern life. "Embrace The Abyss" invites listeners to enter an apocalyptic fugue state and emerge emancipated on the other side.

The album was recorded with long time collaborator Simon “Ding” Archer at 6Db Studios in Salford and Mastered by Nick Zampiello at New Alliance East in Boston, MA. Interstitials were recorded and produced by Rob Jenkinson, with the band expanding their repertoire, employing acoustic guitars, synths, percussion, and even a melodica.
