Nieuws | Siberische blackmetalband Theosophy tekent bij Apocalyptic Witchcraft

De Siberische blackmetalband Theosophy heeft officieel een contract getekend met het label Apocalyptic Witchcraft. Daarmee voegt de band zich bij de internationale roster van het label, dat zich richt op extreme en underground metal.
Theosophy werd in 2008 opgericht in Siberië en maakte al vroeg naam met een splitrelease samen met Bizarrekult. Het debuutalbum …Out of Decades (2011), gevolgd door In the Kingdom of North, verscheen via No Colours Records en bevestigde de positie van de band binnen de blackmetalscene.
In de jaren daarna ontwikkelde de groep een meer conceptuele aanpak met het tweeluik Eastland Tales (2014–2016). Ondertussen bleef de band actief op het podium met optredens in Rusland en een eerste Europese tour in 2019, met shows in onder meer Polen en Tsjechië.
Met latere releases zoals Towers of Dark Pantheon (2020), een livealbum in 2022 en Bleeding Wounds of the First and the Last (2023), bleef Theosophy gestaag bouwen aan hun internationale profiel. De band werkt nu aan een nieuw album met de titel Line Before the Event Horizon.
Frontman Phantom zegt over de samenwerking:“Full of optimism, we are proud to announce that we have started working with Apocalyptic Witchcraft. As the saying goes, ‘That’s one small step for a man, one giant leap for mankind.’ We hope this marks a new chapter for us as well.”
Labeloprichter Conor Droney van Apocalyptic Witchcraft voegt toe:“We are always striving to find the best underground music in the world, and Theosophy emerging from the frozen depths of Siberia, are a fantastic addition to our roster. This is essential black metal for those who seek it.”
Het album Line Before the Event Horizon verschijnt op 25 september en komt uit op vinyl, cd, cassette en digitaal.
