13 jaar, 13 lange jaren na 10.000 Days, is er de eerste studio track van Tool. Fear Inoculum is het titelnummer van het gelijknamige album dat we op 30 augustus van dit jaar mogen verwachten. En wie Tool deze zomer in Amsterdam, Werchter of elders aan het werk zag weet dat Tool na 13 jaar niet veranderd is. Live klinken ze nog even perfect als op CD of vinyl. 5 dagen nadat ze eindelijk hun hele catalogus op streaming diensten toe lieten, laten ze deze schitterende track op de fans los.
Ruim 10 minuten duurt de song, 17.000 hits op YouTube in de eerste 2 uur, en naar gewoonte al hevige discussies op het internet over de betekenis van de tekst. De laatste strofe vooral dan "Unveil now - Lift away - I see you running - Deceiver chased away - A long time coming".
De grote hiatus ligt allicht aan rechtszaken waar Tool in verwikkeld was. De eerste geruchten van een nieuw album dateren immers al van 2013. Maynard James Keenan, gerbuikte de tijd goed en was succesvol met zijn andere band, A Perfect Circle en Puscifer. Adam Jones hield zich bezig met fotografie voor het artwork van Tool en begaf zich met de steun van Steve Niles in de comic book industry.
