Psychonaut lost hun tweede single, eveneens de titeltrack van hun nieuwe plaat Violate Consensus Reality. Een epos van negen minuten dat het concept van het album weergeeft: we maken deel uit van een levend, bewust universum in plaats van een dood, zinloos universum. Maar dit nummer is anders dan hun vorige nummers omwille van de samenwerking met Stefanie Mannaerts (Brutus) en Colin H van Eeckhout (Amenra). Als je hoort dat die drie kleppers samen een nummer maken, dan liggen je verwachtingen al heel hoog. En dat mag, want het resultaat is dan ook een bommetje dat ik enorm graag hoor knetteren! De stem van Stefanie is fenomenaal hier, ze doet je wegdromen en het smaakt naar meer. De stem van Stefan vormt de perfecte match, gaat rustig van start en weet uit te barsten op de juiste moment. En de krachtige schreeuw van Colin, ja, die maakt het weer af. Als ik eerlijk ben dan mocht hij voor mij nog veel langer zijn krachtige stem hier laten horen. Deze drie kleppers samen, dat smaakt naar veel meer ...dit is een combo om u tegen te zeggen!
Uitkijken dus naar de nieuwe plaat van Psychonaut die eraan komt op 28 oktober via Pelagic Records.
En verwennen doen ze ons, want op 4 november krijgen we de albumreleaseshow in de Ancienne Belgique te Brussel. Tickets are going fast, so don't sleep on it !
