Last night at Ancienne Belgique, Marcus Miller delivered a masterclass in groove, musicianship, and pure joy. Opening the evening was ISHA, a rising artist from the Netherlands, accompanied by a drummer from London, where the two met. ISHA was the perfect warmup for the crowd, with a mix of smooth soul and subtle hip-hop that set a confident, contemporary tone for what was to follow.

When Miller and his band took the stage, the room instantly came alive. The legendary bassist, all smiles and precision, led a set that blended funk, jazz, and fusion with effortless cool, together with his band, tight, dynamic, and playful, locking in perfectly with Miller’s unmistakable bass lines, and where every solo felt more like a dialogue rather than a display. A night of connection, rhythm, and groove, with Marcus Miller at his best.
