Om de release van hun 13e studio album The Shit Ov God alweer te vieren hebben Nergal en Co vorige week de clip gelanceerd van Sowing Salt. Een visueel meesterwerk dat ons meeneemt naar een post-apocalyptische toekomst begeleid door een van de hardere songs die Behemoth de laatste jaren heeft uitgebracht.

Op vrijdag 9 mei hebben de heren van Behemoth hun 13e album op de mensheid losgelaten, the shit ov god. 8 songs gebalde blackened death metal. Een korte maar krachtige lijst songs waarvan de naam de lading dekt.

Voor mij, hun sterkste album sinds the satanist uit 2013, onder meer door het strakke drumwerk van de drummer Inferno, gecombineerd met het mysticisme van de zanger Nergal en de gitaren die je bij de keel grijpen. Een must have voor elke Behemoth fan.

Live zal dit ongetwijfeld weer zorgen voor een duistere satanistische vibe waar je tenen van gaan krullen.

To celebrate the release of their critically acclaimed new studio album, The Shit Ov God, which is out today, Poland's kings of extreme metal, BEHEMOTH, have unleashed a stunning music video for their latest single, 'Sowing Salt'.

NERGAL added:

"Sowing Salt is arguably one of the most brutal compositions in Behemoth’s catalogue to date. Unrelenting. Unapologetic. Absolute.

The video was directed by Zev Deans, with whom we’ve had the pleasure to collaborate before. He’s crafted a visual that powerfully completes the song — musically and lyrically. And the lyrics? Just as radical and confrontational as music itself."

With the post-apocalyptic and retro-futuristic imagery that dominates the clip, BEHEMOTH enter new territory without sacrificing the visual leitmotif and thematic virulence they have established over the course of their more than three-decade-long career.
