Sounds | Unverkalt - Mass Hysteria

ā€œWe are excited to announce that Unverkalt officially joined the Season of Mist family.

ā€œWe’ve found a home with a label that doesn’t just handle the heavy, the weird and the loud - it amplifies it. We're very stoked about working with a team that gets what we’re about and isn’t afraid of a little sonic destruction.

ā€Unverkalt always stood for real, raw, untamed art and never gave a damn about fitting into scenes or trends. We just wanted to create something honest - loud, heavy, broken and alive. And now we’ve found a place that welcomes that chaos with open arms.

ā€The next chapter of Unverkalt starts here. Expect more music, more shows and more beautifully controlled chaos. Stay tuned and brace yourselves - this ride's only getting louder.ā€

Formed in 2017, Unverkalt emerged from a desire to give voice to grief, memory, and the visceral undercurrents of the human condition. Their early work established them as a unique presence within the European post-metal underground, marked by a brooding atmosphere and arresting vocal performances. Their most recent output saw the band embrace a darker, more immediate sound—steeped in gothic tension, doom-laden weight, and avant-garde nuance.

The band’s debut album, L’Origine du Monde, emerged rooted in emotional unrest and tense atmospherics while delving deep into loss and catharsis beneath shades of post-metal and slow-burning doom. Their follow-up, A Lump of Death: A Chaos of Dead Lovers, pushed deeper into obsession and decay, blending gothic unease with cinematic grandeur and raw urgency. Together, the band’s first two albums trace their evolution from mournful elegance to something more immediate and consuming—a path worth retracing before the next part of their journey unfolds.
