Damn! Of eerder ... Hot Damn! Wat een vrolijk poppunkdeuntje hoor ik hier uit mijn speakers knallen. Met hun catchy maar stevige deuntjes bouwen de jongedames van The Hot Damn! (afkomstig uit Marlow, Buckinghamshire, UK) al enkele jaren aan hun fanbase in het thuisland maar de verovering van het vasteland staat op hun verlanglijstje.
Misschien dat dit Jukebox on the Radio daar al het begin van kan zijn?
Het is in elk geval een vrolijk maar ook stevig nummer met een hoge meezingbaarheidsfactor die gaat over opgroeien met de goede ouwe radio. Er wordt hulde gebracht aan oa Elvis, Blondie, Ziggy Stardust en slagen erin om zelfs een koebel "bad-ass as hell" te laten klinken.
Jukebox on the Radio is de eerste single uit hun nieuwe album, Dancing on the Milky Way, dat op 27 september verschijnt via Fat Earth Records.
