Sounds | The Dead Run, Wire Cut

LEES

The Dead Run is an instrumental post-metal band from Ninove, Belgium. The three piece band plays a mix of heavy, groovy, energetic and sometimes atmospheric music that is never boring. Some musical influences include Converge, Toska, Deftones, Everytime I Die, The Dillinger Escape Plan, Poison the Well, Meshuggah, Queens of the Stone Age, Mastodon, among many others. The music springs from live writing sessions and is always focussed on bringing out pure power and strong energy, and is made for the love of creating magic together. It is sometimes technical, but always listinable. All recording sessions until now were done live in order to capture the true vibe that the songs should bring. “The Dead Run” stands for playing and creating for the sake of doing it, and for the magic that emerges between uniquely musically connected individuals. “We keep running, although we may already be dead and it is all for nothing. This is our nature, our irrational survival instinct.” After the release of the self recorded and self mixed debut LP “Session I - Recorded Live in Puurs” in 2021, and a music video for the single “A Great Tidal Disturbance” off that record, new music is now ready to be unleashed. After many years of intensely playing together in different formations and subgenres of metal, the 3 guys in The Dead Run are now making heavy music that is unbound and unrestricted. The aim is to bring the music to as many audiences as possible, big goals, no expectations, but always flat out.
