Vijftien jaar bestaan ze reeds, maar zelf ontdekte ik ze pas met hun vorige album V. Toen hoorde ik regelmatig de oude Chicago in hun nummers, maar dit is nu (spijtig genoeg?) niet meer het geval. De invloeden zijn een pak meer 'spaghetti western', of zal ik het even cooler uitdrukken: filmmuziek voor een volgende Tarantino Western. De eerste songs die gereleased werden, zijn ook allemaal een pak gezapiger. Even wennen dus, maar het blijft dikke fun!
Long in the Tooth verschijnt op 6 oktober via V2 Records.

The Budos Bandās sixth studio album Long In The Tooth, via Daptone Records, marks the 15th anniversary of the bandās eponymous 2005 full-length debut. Sounding as if Quentin Tarantino was the music supervisor for a Bond film, with drums simmering between swells of horns as guitar snakes towards a resounding organ.
