Drie singles van het nieuwe album zijn uitgebracht en driemaal is het méér dan raak! De koerswijziging zal het enkele fans van het eerste uur niet makkelijk maken, maar als dit geen pak nieuwe fans oplevert, dan weet ik het ook niet meer. De muziek wordt nu omschreven als southern gothic: het zuiders aspect zit in de intense sfeer en hoe de instrumenten klinken, de gothische toets zit hem in de duisternis die aanwezig blijft. Alles aan dit nummer is gewoon van een ongelooflijk niveau, zowel het technisch vernuft, de songwriting als de emoties die nooit plaats moeten maken voor het eerste. Ik ben er nu al van overtuigd dat het centraal plaatsen van Cammie, haar fantastische stem én inlevingsvermogen een erg verstandige keuze is met oog op de toekomst van Oceans Of Slumber!

Directed by Angela Herr and Bianca Greene, OCEANS OF SLUMBER teamed up with FirstSight Agency to produce this cinematic music video following the emotional journey of a charismatic post-apocalyptic cult leader.
Vocalist Cammie Beverly says about the song and video: “In true story-telling fashion, ‘The Lighthouse’ evokes the frenzied emotions of the evangelical south’s dangerous religious leanings. Leading with an ominous gospel, ‘The Lighthouse’ is a song as dark and atmospheric as the humid air that hangs heavy in our region.”
