Sounds | Nova Twins - N.O.V.A.

Het duurt nog ruim een maand tot Parasites & Butterflies, het derde studioalbum van het Britse Punk-duo Nova Twins, uitkomt en het is alweer even geleden sinds de release van hun laatste single Piranha. Om de periode voor de fans wat dragelijker te maken heeft de band nu de vierde single afkomstig van Parasites & Butterflies uitgebracht.

De track luistert naar de titel N.O.V.A. en klinkt weer typisch Nova Twins. Een goede dosis punk met een dosis hiphop er doorheen gebracht met een lekkere portie attitude blijkt nog altijd een geweldig recept. Want na Monsters, Soprano en Piranha zorgt ook N.O.V.A. weer voor hoge verwachtingen voor het nieuwe album.

Tijdens de tour die volgt na de release van Parasites & Butterflies staan Nova Twins in Tivolivredenburg en 013. Wil je ze na het horen van deze nieuwe single ook live zien, scoor dan dus snel nog even een kaartje.

Hot off the heels of ferocious singles “Monsters”, “Soprano”, and “Piranha”, N.O.V.A. sees Amy Love and Georgia South standing taller than ever— -unapologetically loud, undeniably proud.

Speaking on the track, Amy and Georgia said: “This is a celebration of identity, a tribute to the women in our family, and a refusal to apologise for who we are. As two Black women in rock music, we initially felt we had to prove ourselves, due to a lack of representation. Sticking to our guns and overcoming self-doubt has brought us pride. This song honours the peers who paved the way and the progress we've made”.

The chaotic video was directed by the incredible Charlie Rees and sees Amy and Georgia commanding a packed, all-femme moshpit with raw, unapologetic power. Embracing both their femininity and alt-rock roots, Nova Twins tear through the track with an in-your-face performance that’s fierce and cathartic. Prepare to feel the heat!
