Sounds | Morganway - Devil's Canyon

"Devil's Canyon is a song we've lived and breathed live since the early days of the band. It's like we were waiting for the right time to capture the lightning in the bottle. What surprised us all was, when hearing it back in the studio for the first time, it sounded so fresh, like it was new again. It was the first track we recorded for the new album."

Striking six-part harmonies, energetic rhythms, catchy songs, and a formidable live act – Morganway have made quite the impression on the UK’s rising Americana scene.

Voted BCMA’s Group of The Year for the second year running, 2023 was a big year for Morganway. They released their second album ‘Back To Zero’ in May to widespread acclaim. With Louder Than War describing it as “a great country record” and Americana UK calling them a “band to watch”, the album reached the official Americana Charts Top 20 for two weeks running. The release was followed by a festival season that included a crowd of 20,000 at Cropredy, with rave reviews from Fairport Convention themselves. They also supported rock legends Skunk Anansie and headlined a successful national tour with multiple sell-out dates.

To close out 2023 they released their first live album, with opening track ‘Devil’s Canyon’ receiving its first exclusive play on Planet Rock Radio. The band also supported Elles Bailey in Germany before performing a sold out end of year show at the Storey’s Field Centre in Cambridge.

With new music already primed for release, 2024 promises to continue the rising story of Morganway with bigger, rawer and more emotional heights.
