Sounds | Mirror Mirage - Law Of The Jungle

After being away from the progressive rock scene for quite some time, guitarist and songwriter Wouter van der Veen (known from Armed Cloud and Steelyard) makes his comeback with Mirror Mirage: a dynamic new project that captures the essence of classic influences while forging a distinctive sound for today's audience. Wouter on his return to progressive rock after so many years: "Progressive rock and metal is and remains a genre that is close to my heart and where I can express my musical inspiration the most. It is a versatile style and writing songs in it comes naturally to me. This is why I had to start again at some point. For now it is only a studio project, but certainly with the intention to come up with new music

regularly."

Drawing inspiration from legendary acts such as Rainbow, Dream Theater, Symphony X, Dio and Yngwie Malmsteen, Mirror Mirage crafts a sound that is both nostalgic and refreshingly modern, appealing to long-time fans of the genre and new listeners alike. Prepare for heavy riffs, melodic vocals, grooving drums and ominous keys.

Inspiration for the name Mirror Mirage comes from one of the tracks from Armed Cloud. In addition, Mirror Mirage has to do with ā€œseeing or wanting to see something that is not really there or isn’t realā€. It’s about illusion, dreams, hopes and goals. Very applicable to the subjects of the songs that feature on the brand new and very first EP:

Missing Pieces.
