"The Devil was hiding in the Bible Belt" zingt Ken Pomeroy schijnbaar lieflijk. Wie echter weet waar deze regio voor staat, die begrijpt dat het geen lachertje is om daar op te groeien. Wanneer je nog eens 'anders' bent, dan moet at als het ware de hel zijn. Pomeroy zingt het leed opnieuw onwaarschijnlijk mooi van zich af, in contrast met het snijdend geluid van een cello en een pedal steel gitaar die even komt janken. Ook deze derde single zit erg knap in elkaar en raakt mede door zijn eenvoud.

Reflecting on the track, Pomeroy shares, āI grew up in the Bible Belt but didnāt grow up very religious. Iāve witnessed plenty of awful things happen in such a supposed āgodlyā place. It made me question a lot of things, so I wrote this song. After a month of playing it on tour and seeing people connect with it, we recorded it right before we started mixing the album.āĀ
