Er zijn nog streken waar ze er helemaal niet van moeten dromen en waar een 'white chistmas' de normaalste zaak van de wereld is.
De Noorse band Kalandra laat nu een lyric video op ons los die ónze dromen alvast kan aanwakkeren. Het nummer Hymna til Bjåfjell laat zich vertalen als "Hymn to the Blue Mountain" en is in Noorwegen vooral gekend uit een NRK TV kerstserie. Kwestie van mijn cirkeltje rond te kunnen maken.
Hun versie van het nummer is zelfs naar Kalandra normen vrij ijl en folky, zonder gitaren, maar toch bijzonder pakkend en ook nostalgisch.
Wij vinden het nummer terug op de jongste EP van Kalandra,Mørketid, die op 31 oktober verscheen bij By Norse Music.

This song is our take on one of the most beloved songs from a classic Norwegian Christmas TV series. The original was composed by Geir Bøhren and Bent Åserud, with lyrics by Gudny Hagen.
Blåfjell - or “Blue Mountain” - is the mythical home of the Blånisser (blue elves). Every winter, there’s a moment between sunset and darkness that we in Norway call Blåtimen - the blue hour - when the snowy mountains glow in deep shades of blue.
Bringing this song to life felt like revisiting a piece of our own childhood. We wanted to capture that same sense of wonder and magic we felt watching the series and translate it into the world of Kalandra. We hope our fellow Norwegians will feel the nostalgia - and that listeners everywhere can sense a bit of that northern winter magic, even if they’ve never heard the original."
