Ik moet toegeven, ik was zeer sceptisch over deze band. Ik categoriseer het gezelschap onder het toepasbare 'Dansmetaal'. Deze cover van Sum 41's Still Waiting heeft me weliswaar aangenaam verrast.
Ik heb ze deze zomer mogen beleven op de Lokerse Feesten en dat was me wel een feestje! Je moet jezelf wel wat over hun humor zetten, maar eens je je laat meeslepen is het een moment van ongeremde fun.
Electric Callboy heeft in een samenwerking met de originele drummer van Sum41 Frank Zummo de track Still Waiting in een explosief nieuw jasje gestoken. Het nummer is stevig, vol energie en blijft trouw aan de originele vurige spirit. Still Waiting is spontaan tot stand gekomen na hulp van Frank tijdens hun festivaltour in Australiƫ.
Frank is momenteel ook de drummer van de band tijdens hun Europese tournee.
Still waiting is voor hen, net als voor mij, een song waarmee ik ben opgegroeid en waarna ik stilaan meer van het zwaardere werk ben gaan genieten. Daarom spreekt deze versie me zo aan, het prikkelt elk zintuig in mijn lijf.

Electric Callboy has become one of the most explosive forces in modern heavy music. The singles kept breaking records: Everytime We Touch now boasts over 62 million streams and 21 million YouTube views, while We Got The Moves went viral with more than 158 million streams. Their collaboration RATATATA with Japanese kawaii-metal icons BABYMETAL became an instant international hit ā surpassing now 100 million streams and nearly 50 million video views, hitting #1 on YouTubeās global trending charts, entering the Viral Top 50 in over 40 countries, and generating more than 1 million daily streams at its peak.
In 2025, Electric Callboy keep raising the stakes. January saw the release of Elevator Operator, a funky, EDM-fueled anthem with bone-shaking breakdowns and a hilarious video starring actor Uke Bosse as the unhinged operator. In May, they followed up with Revery, a darker, high-octane track featuring hard-hitting riffs, thought-provoking lyrics, and one of the bandās most infectious sing-along choruses to date.
With multiple sold-out arenas on their upcoming 2025/2026 headline tour, Electric Callboy have cemented their reputation as one of the most unpredictable, entertaining, and unmissable live acts in the world.
