Kwatongen durven wel eens beweren dat Eihwar gewoon maar meespringt op de kar van het alsmaar populairder wordende nordic folkmetal genre. Persoonlijk vind ik dat nogal kort door de bocht en goedkope klavierriderpolitiek.
Akkoord, Eihwar is nog een jonge band waarvoor het plots héél hard gaat en het zal aan henzelf zijn om te bewijzen hoe en of ze de verwachtingen kunnen waarmaken.
Eihwar voert echter een bijzonder dansbaar element toe aan hun sound, waardoor ze zowel op folk- als metalfestivals kunnen spelen, maar misschien ook wel op een dancefestival. Misschien ligt het geheim van hun snel rijzende sterrenstatus wel aan het feit dat ze een breder publiek kunnen aanspreken dan sommige andere acts in het genre.
Heill Óðinn is de derde en laatste vooruitgeschoven track uit hun nieuwe album Hugrheim dat op 13 maart verschijnt via Season of Mist.

Rooted in the mythology of Hugrheim, the hidden tenth world of Yggdrasil, “Heill Óðinn” marks a decisive moment in the album’s unfolding narrative. In this realm shaped by the Hugr, the spirit, thoughts take form and memory becomes prophecy. As described in the fictional treatise Hugrheim, the Tenth World of Yggdrasil, this unseen domain stands beyond the nine known worlds, a shifting landscape where soul and fate intertwine.

Minni fornra tíða kemr til vár smám saman / Í dag minnumk ek morgundags
“The memory of ancient times is slowly returning to us. Today, we remember tomorrow.”
