Af en toe passeert een nieuwe song onze mailbox waarvan ik denk "Dat is hélemaal iets voor recensent x of y". Om dan tot mijn verbazing vast te stellen dat noch x, noch y, noch een andere letter van het alfabet dit oppikt. Helemaal van mijn melk krijg ik dan de onweerstaanbare drang het maar zelf te posten, al ben ik er geen (grote) fan. Van dit stukje melodic/symphonic metal bv. Ik snap het meestal na enkele luisterbeurten wel hoor: net iets te 'melodic' voor de éne, net iets te 'symphonic' voor de andere. En toch heeft het iets. Finnen die zo upbeat te keer gaan is bovendien niet alledaags. Onze deur staat dus open voor recensenten die o.a. hier wel wat mee kunnen ... en vooral willen!

Guitarist & Bass player Santtu Rosén comment: "The recordings of Dead End Finland's fifth album have been completed. The new single "Heavy Rain" from the upcoming album, which will be released in March 2023, will be released on December 15th. Like the previous albums, it will be released in collaboration with Inverse Records. "The single is about that crushing feeling when gloom and doom take over the mind again. It's about the powerlessness you feel first thing in the morning and the inadequacy that doesn't leave you until the next night. The feeling when every day is hard in the wind and in the heavy rain."
Dead End Finland is a melodic metal band from Helsinki, Finland. Founded in 2007, and signed by Inverse Records in 2012, the band line-up has remained unchanged since the beginning – that is what has made the present sound and soundscape possible. All members have several years of band background (Grendel, Dying Daylight, Divercia) before Dead End Finland, and everybody’s strengths are now harnessed to create our own bombastic style. Dead End Finland’s music is difficult to explicitly pigeonhole to any specific genre, you’ll be able to hear tones from classical music to death metal.
