In hun pr praatjes nemen platenlabels en promo agencies het woord 'Pioniers' vaak maar al te lichtzinnig in de mond. In het geval van Dark Tranquillity echter is die eretitel zeker niet uit de lucht gegrepen.
Deze band heeft mij persoonlijk nog nooit ontgoocheld en alhoewel we ondertussen natuurlijk wel zo'n beetje weten wat we van hen mogen verwachten klinken hun albums steeds als het beste wat melodic death metal kan bieden.
Ook aan dit Unforgivable klinkt alles weer zoals het moet klinken. Drums die klinken alsof hun drummer een octopus is, gitaarsolos waarin elke noot zit waar ze moet zitten en huilend droge vocalen.
Na The Last Imagination is dit de tweede vooruitgeschoven single uit hun nieuwe album Endtime Signals dat op 16 augustus uitkomt via Century Media Records.
