Sounds | Blues Pills, California (ft. Marc Broussard)

Swedish rock, blues & soul powerhouse Blues Pills are kicking off their European Summer tour at NOVA ROCK Festival in Austria today. This massive 2022 live run includes appearances at most of the biggest and most renowned festivals as well as a few selected club shows. Please scroll down for a complete list of tour dates. In celebration of the tour start, Blues Pills have released a new version of the song "California" which was originally featured on their latest album, "Holy Moly!" (2020). This new, more laid-back version features acclaimed US bayou soul singer Marc Broussard on guest vocals. You can listen to the single below. Infamous for their charismatic performances, the rock quartet Blues Pills had a fast journey of international success. They went straight from dirty, crowded bars to playing at some of Europe’s biggest festivals such as Download, Rock am Ring, Wacken Open Air and Roskilde. Their self-titled debut album went straight into the European charts and hit #4 in Germany and their second album "Lady in Gold" landed a #1 in Germany. Blues Pills is a heavy dose of pure rock power, and with hundreds of thousands of sold records and one of today’s strongest rock vocalists, this band is here to stay.

Under the layers of heavy psychedelic blues rock and Elin Larsson’s soulful and powerful voice, often compared to Janis Joplin, Amy Winehouse and Adele, the core of Blues Pills has always been the restless search for change. Change in the human mind and the musical influences they embraced themselves with, from blackened soul to the trippy rides through 60’s rock music and the devils blues.

BLUES PILLS are:

Elin Larsson | Vocals

Zack Anderson | Guitar

André Kvarnström | Drums
