Nickelback, je houdt ervan, je kan ze niet uitstaan, of je voelt er niet veel bij. In welke categorie je nu ook zit, je zult vast en zeker al wel van deze band gehoord hebben, maar wat je misschien nog niet wist, is dat ze binnenkort een nieuw album uitbrengen. Onder de naam Get Rollin wordt op 18 november de nieuwste plaat van deze Canadezen op de wereld losgelaten en ik kan jullie nu al voorstellen aan de eerste single; San Quentin. Je had de lyric video van dit nummer een week geleden misschien al wel eens voorbij zien komen, maar nu hebben we dus ook een music video voorgeschoteld gekregen. Persoonlijk kan ik het wel appreciëren om enkele Hellfire club t-shirts terug te zien in de video, maar dat geheel terzijde. Je kan nu zeggen wat je wil over deze band en over Chad, maar damn die man heeft een bangelijke stem! Ik was bijna vergeten hoe strak Nickelback kan klinken. Toegegeven, de track is een beetje eentonig met momenten, maar ik vind hem allesbehalve slecht en zeer catchy.

Today, diamond certified multi-platinum selling Canadian rock band Nickelback officially announced their highly anticipated new album Get Rollin’, releasing November 18th via BMG. Led by brand new single “San Quentin,” Nickelback’s newest body of work will be their 10th studio album and first release in five years. Anchored by a heart thumping beat, “San Quentin” is an edgy, rock adventure, teasing the diverse range of sounds and songs to come on Get Rollin’.
The single, “San Quentin'' was inspired after front man Chad Kroeger met a real-life warden from the notoriously high security California prison. The song follows as he plots his clever escape. In addition to “San Quentin,” the band’s forthcoming project will feature 10 new songs all penned by Nickelback.
“We’ve spent the last few years making a record at a pace that gave us the freedom to create and we can’t wait for everyone to hear the new music,” says Nickelback. “We’ve missed the fans and look forward to bringing the new songs to life on stage, so let’s Get Rollin’!”
